Does cutting taxes increase growth? No clear evidence ....

CBO: higher taxes on rich won't harm economy

 -
26

Just yesterday, as talks over taxes and spending grew a little louder in Washington, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) cited an "independent" report that found tax increases on the wealthy would "cost our economy more than 700,000 jobs."
The argument, not surprisingly, was debunked months ago. But the rhetoric raises a worthwhile question: what would happen if a bipartisan agreement fails to materialize, and tax increases automatically kick in on Jan. 1?
Yesterday, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office reported the looming tax hikes and spending cuts would undermine the economy in 2013, but the "least harmful component of the coming fiscal consolidation is precisely what Democrats are demanding: the expiration of the Bush tax cuts for high earners."
CBO doesn't examine the top bracket Bush tax cuts directly. But it does look at two competing scenarios: One where all of the expiring tax cuts except for the payroll tax cut are extended; another where all of the expiring tax cuts except for the payroll tax cut and the Bush tax cuts for top earners are extended.
The former, CBO says, would increase employment by 1.8 million full time equivalent employees in 2013 relative to allowing everything to lapse. The latter would increase employment by 1.6 million. The difference, 200,000 full time equivalent jobs, is attributable to the expiration of the top bracket Bush tax cuts alone.
By comparison, other layers of the fiscal cliff save less money and have far greater economic consequences. Failing to extend the expiring payroll tax cut and expiring emergency unemployment benefits through 2014 would cost the economy about 800,000 jobs, according to CBO. The two halves of the sequester -- the defense cuts and the domestic cuts -- would each cost the economy about 400,000 full time equivalent jobs.
So, according to the CBO, the Democratic priorities do more to help the economy, and the Republican priorities do less. The 700,000 figure cited by the House Speaker has no basis in reality at all.
Maybe Republicans will try to suppress this, too?

Some voters just just can't get over the truth ....

Well, I am afraid you cry by yourself, or with other BMN (Bullshit Mountain Nation) citizens. The America that you refer to no longer exist, or maybe it never existed.

- "Democrat party voted God out" ... I want to remind you about separation of religion and state. Political party by definition should be non-religious. It does not mean that members cannot be religious, but they practice religion in their private lives and not in public sphere.

- "In the Good vs. Evil battle...today...Evil won." Fair enough. Then I guess it was probably better for republicans to pray than vote. After all you cannot vote Evil out of existence, it will still be there, even after elections.

- "Thanks a lot Christians, for not showing up. You disgust me." If it is makes democrats even for abandoning God, I guess by the same criteria you must call your self evil by abandoning fellow Christians. You see, they showed up in great numbers, but there is not enough of them anymore.

Victoria Jackson On Obama's Win: 'I Can't Stop Crying, America Died'

Posted: Updated: 11/08/2012 5:14 pm EST
Victoria Jackson hasn't exactly been a beacon of rational political analysis, but her post-election meltdown on Twitter may take the cake. After Barack Obama was declared the winner, the former "SNL" castmember proclaimed that America had "died."
For context, Jackson is the actress who proclaimed that she would have a baby if impregnated through rape, uncovered a "secret, underground group" of Hollywood Republicans and said gay marriage would "make God mad."
But we digress. Here's Jackson (via an unverified Twitter account) on the outcome of the 2012 presidential election:

Victoria Jackson
I can't stop crying.

Victoria Jackson
I can't stop crying. America died.

Victoria Jackson
The Democrat party who voted God out of their platform and adopted Romans 1 as their platform won. In the Good...

Victoria Jackson
The Democrat Party voted God out and replaced Him with Romans 1. In the Good vs. Evil battle...today...Evil won.

And, to cap things off:

Victoria Jackson
Thanks a lot Christians, for not showing up. You disgust me.
UPDATE: There you have it.

Kilmeade on Sandy voters: America is ‘the shallowest country in the history of man’

Even more evidence that Bullshit Mountain people live in parallel universe. The fact that most voters still blamed Bush for the slow recovery is in my mind evidence that there is still enough thinking people this country. But that phrase that they used, actually, perfectly fits the description of the network: Fox & Friends, the shallowest Show in the history of media!!!!!

guys ... watch your own show and learn ... http://video.foxnews.com/v/1952906324001/was-it-the-economy-stupid/

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/11/07/kilmeade-on-sandy-voters-america-is-the-shallowest-country-in-the-history-of-man/

Fox News co-host Brian Kilmeade on Wednesday complained that the United States was the “shallowest country in the history of man” because exit polls showed that people considered Hurricane Sandy an important factor in the presidential race.
On the morning after President Barack Obama won re-election, Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy noted that Hurricane Sandy had been the “October surprise,” with 42 percent of people saying that the storm response was an important issue and 15 percent saying it was the most important issue.
“I can’t believe those numbers,” co-host Gretchen Carlson said, throwing up her arms.
“Then we are the shallowest country in the history of man,” Kilmeade concluded. “One photo op [of President Obama] walking over a two-by-four and all the sudden he’s handling a storm, which by the way, hasn’t been handled well!”

A graphic description of BS on Bullshit Mountain from DREGstudios! Thanks for your submission!!!

Submitted by dregstudiosart:

"The talking heads guarding the inhabitants of Bullsh*t Mountain from rejoining the world of the sane just won't budge an inch will they?  Fox News is a propaganda machine which dumbs down America by the day through disinformation and their slanted agendas.  See their anchors spewing forth feces from their mouths in my visual homage to the network on my artist’s blog at
